5. A widower, though rich, thou’lt marry,
You for a husband won’t long tarry,
6. Proper and gay will be the man,
That will thee wed my pretty Nan.
WHETHER A MAID SHALL HAVE HIM
SHE LOVE.
BE not too coy, he is thy own,
But through delay he may be gone.
He of your wishes does not know,
He’d soon comply if it were so.
Come set they heart at rest I say;
He will but plunder and away.
Fear not, they neighbor is the man,
And he will have thee if he can.
Shew him more kindness he will speak,
His heart with silence else will break.
Sigh thou no more, he does relent,
And o his inconstancy repent.
HOW MANY HUSBANDS YOU MAY
EXPECT.
COME in the town thou first shall wed,
A stranger next, shall grace they bed.
With one well lov’d thy life shall be,
And happy days in marriage seet.
The stars three husbands doth presage,
And thou shalt die in good old age.
Wed thou betimes, or else I fear,
