This unit aims to amplify the marginalized voices and narratives of early Black Boston through the use of multimedia platforms that explore key figures and movements. Students will engage in research that encourages them to consider diverse perspectives, communities, and historical contexts—ultimately developing their own informed stance. In doing so, they will gain a deeper understanding of the power embedded in personal narratives and ancestral histories.
